Echoes of Jimmy
I recently had the privilege of visiting the estate of James (and Kay) Beck, and I’m grateful and humbled by the experience. It offered me wonderful new insights and the chance to gather truly special photographs and documents for Jimmy’s biography.
Pictured here is a well-known photograph of Jimmy in his Dad’s Army director’s chair from 1972. Beneath that photo is what remains of that very same chair in 2026 — a reminder of time passing, and of a legacy that still resonates.

Biography Update
I’m very happy to share that some exciting developments have recently taken place regarding the biography of James Beck, revealing new layers and shaping how Jimmy’s story is being told. It has further deepened my commitment to the project.
I would like to thank everyone who has shown such strong interest in the book so far — your enthusiasm and encouragement mean a great deal. As soon as further updates are ready to be shared, they will appear here.

Richard is widely respected for his (book)works on Dad's Army, and his involvement adds depth to this project. It's an honour to have him on board, and in doing so, to help ensure Jimmy receives the acknowledgement that, after so many years, he truly deserves.
